Switch is the new future for Nintendo

Nintendo switch

Before talking about the Nintendo Switch, let’s go back a little bit in time. Nintendo, the giant video game company, faced a big challenge since 2012 with the release of the WiiU; a misunderstood console that didn’t do that well among critics and fans alike. Later on, the alarms went on, when the company was even facing economic difficulties by 2014. We didn’t hear much from Nintendo until 2016. Rumors about an upcoming new console emerged: The “NX.” Was it going to be better than the WiiU? That was clearly a priority. The audience remained skeptic.

COO of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aimé admitted they could do better regarding marketing: “One of the things that we have to do better when we launch the NX, we have to do a better job communicating the positioning for the product. We have to do a better job helping people to understand its uniqueness and what that means for the game playing experience.”

An era to switch

Then, in October 2016 Nintendo reveals the name: “Switch,” along with a teaser video and pictures showing and early improvement in comparison to its predecessor. It’s a hybrid console/portable gaming device, with detachable controllers (Joy-Cons), an improved screen and a dark and serious design. Then we saw images of its first title: “Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” the cherry on top of the cake that had as all hyped and aboard the Switch boat!

switch nintendoNintendo shows how they are managing again a way to reinvent the way we play video games. The concept is very social and versatile; you can either play at home or outside. The teaser showed a lot of scenarios where the Switch was the soul of the party with people playing together at home, in the car or the roof of a building. You can play with the console on the dock, or detach the Joy-Con controllers and play with a friend. It can also be played watching the TV screen, or the handheld device. Like I said: versatile.

Now, on the night of January the 13th, Nintendo finally held the Treehouse Press Event in Tokyo and unveiled further details about the Switch. The launch price is $299, and the release day set for March 3rd, 2017. Among the upcoming titles, we have obviously “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” Plus, newly announcements (and some of the most interesting ones) of “Super Mario Odyssey,” “Ultra Street Fighter II,” “Splatoon 2”, “Skyrim”, among many others.

Is Nintendo switching their luck from bad to good?

One day after the press event in Tokyo, Nintendo’s stock price fell by more than 5%. Maybe is too early to tell if the Switch will be successful or not. What we can say is that this party game will be a lots fun for sure. Even more, if you’re a lifetime fan of Nintendo’s characters. Time will tell if the Switch will be the successful marketing product Nintendo needs it to be!

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any
problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of completely
unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it
up all over the internet without my authorization. Do you know any techniques
to help reduce content from being stolen? I’d definitely
    appreciate it.
